A 102-year-old grandfather was cut to death in his Los Angeles garage with a machete that allegedly appeared to be a random attack by a 47-year-old man.
Youssef Mahboubian was found dead in her garage in Encino, L.A., on Thursday. A 102-year-old boy who migrated from Iran to the US more than 30 years ago was brutally cut to death with a machete.
Adam Dimmerman Arrest, Murder Charged, Investigation
Police arrested 47-year-old Adam Dimmerman on suspicion of murder. He was also accused of a nearby separate attack, in which the victim was attacked but not killed. Many reported seeing Dimmerman wandering around the neighborhood with a dog and ax.
When Mahboubian’s body was found at 12.50 pm, he was in custody for the attack. It is unclear whether Dimmerman has met Mahboubian before or what the reason is.
The victim’s family says it was the random attack of a ‘psychopath’. My wife is terrified when she hears that she was killed by an ax-wielding psychopath.
‘He must have been crazy or is using drugs or something.
I thought it fell. I had no idea. They told me he fell into the garage and my cousin came home and found him.
Mahboubian’s grandson Jason told ABC 7: ‘I didn’t know he was a man with a machete who killed people. Dimmerman was arrested for the attack before police found Mahboubian’s body. Many people reported that he was walking around the neighborhood with a dog and an ax.
Mahboubian’s grandson said he was a hardworking family man who devoted himself to his wife of 65 years.
He came to this country from Iran decades and decades ago, and they have been living peacefully in Alonzo Place for 30 years.
“This is very sad,” he said.
It is not clear so far whether Dimmerman has any criminal record.
He is detained.
The neighborhood with the attacks is rich; Mahboubian’s house is now worth $ 1.8 million.
