Wonder Woman Film It is a 2020 American superhero movie based on the DC Comics character Wonder Woman. The sequel to Wonder Woman in 2017 and the ninth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The film is directed by a script based on a story by Johns and Jenkins, written with Patty Jenkins, Geoff Johns and David Callaham. Gal Gadot stars as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman alongside Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal, Robin Wright and Connie Nielsen. Set during the 1984 Cold War, the film follows Diana and her past love Steve Trevor as they face off against Maxwell Lord and Cheetah. The sequel controversy began shortly after the first movie was released in June 2017, and the decision to continue was approved the following month. Filming took place on June 13, 2018 at Warner Bros. in England. Studios began with filming in Leavesden as well as the District of Columbia and Northern Virginia in the United States, London and Duxford in England, Tenerife in Canary, and Fuerteventura. Islands and Almería, Andalusia, Spain. The production was completed on December 22, 2018, after a six-month shoot, with additional filming in July 2019.

Patty Jenkins, director of the first movie, initially only signed for one movie and expressed an interest in returning to direct the sequel. ] In June 2017, in an interview with Variety, comic book writer Geoff Johns revealed that he and Jenkins started writing treatments for a Wonder Woman sequel and had “a great idea for the latter”.  Speaking in a Q&A episode at the film’s Female Film screening, Jenkins stated that he would indeed direct the sequel.  Jenkins later said, “This is not a verification.
