William Pope Wiki – Arrest
Federal officials say a man and his brother were arrested and charged in Topeka, Kansas, for alleged involvement in the January 6 riots in the US Capitol.
FBI special agents, members of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, and Topeka police arrested William Pope on Friday. Pope was arrested on federal charges, including the Denial or Prevention of Proceedings; Civil disobedience; Entry and Stay in a Restricted Building or Land; Erratic and Destructive Behavior in a Restricted Building or Land; Irregular Behavior in a Congress Building; Preventing Buildings Passing Through Capital Areas; and Demonstration Walk, Show, or Demonstration in the Capitol.
Authorities also said the Pope’s brother, Michael Pope of Idaho Sandpoint, was also arrested on Friday on the same charges.
No indictment documents have yet been provided for the Pope’s arrest.
Three Kansas City area men were arrested Thursday for their reported roles in connection with the Capitol violation.
