William Chavis Raynard Miller Jr was a high school student who was shot and killed at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. According to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department, the campus is currently safe, but the attacker, believed to be another student, is on the run.

Winston-Salem police also confirmed the victim’s name and said he was dead. Authorities said at a press conference that William Miller was taken to the hospital where he died. Authorities did not give Miller’s age or rank; nor did they disclose or release the suspect’s name, although the name was given in the referral voice.

Authorities did not give Miller’s age or rank; Neither did they give a reason, nor did they disclose the suspect’s name, although the name was given in the referral voice.

“This is the second time we’ve seen a shooting at a North Carolina school this week,” said North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper. “Our prayers are with the victims, their families, and the students of Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem. I have been briefed by law enforcement and the Public Safety Department is ready to provide any necessary support. We must work to ensure the safety of students and educators, catch the attacker quickly, and keep the guns out of the school.” Authorities said the suspect was wearing a black hoodie and was “all black”. He set out on foot. “The suspect was in the cafeteria, so he left that location on foot,” one person said. The officer said one person was “shot”. An officer later said the suspect was “running in the parking lot”. The injured person was a man. “Something was dropped on the suspect by the suspect,” the officer said. But another attendant said no one heard gunshots in the cafeteria.

A police officer said in the live browser that authorities had received a report from a parent that a video had been posted to Snapchat before the shooting. Authorities have not confirmed whether this is true.

At one point, they mentioned that there were guards on the children sheltering in the place. According to the referral voice, the shot victim was found in a classroom.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department posted on Facebook, “Mount Tabor High School is on lockdown. There was an armed attack on the school grounds. We and the WSPD have secured the campus and are doing everything possible to ensure the safety of students. We are actively investigating what happened and will share verified information as appropriate.”

 

Officials said at a press conference: “The student William Chavis Raynard Miller, Jr., who was killed in the shooting at Mt Tabor High today.” “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family today and in the difficult days ahead,” the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department said. Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough, Jr. said, “It’s a sad day, but we’ll get through this together. This family needs your prayers. Our students need your prayers. Our community needs your prayers.”

WSPD Chief Catrina Thompson also confirmed that a student died in the shooting at Mount Tabor High. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the student’s family, Mount Tabor High School family, and the Winston Salem/Forsyth County family,” he said.

“Give us a chance to give you the facts,” Kimbrough said. Many rumors are spreading. We are committed to being transparent and will share verified information as appropriate. The search for the attacker, who is believed to be a student, continues.

Reunification will take some time as students are gradually moving out.”

Reports of active marksmen broke out just before 1 p.m. on the east coast.

Frantazia Hines told Journal Now that she was on the phone with her sister, who was traveling to Mount Tabor shortly after 12 p.m. and heard “multiple gunshots” going off.
