An American actress, comedian, and media personality.
Kitaen was born in 1961 in San Diego, California as Julie Kitaen, a housewife and daughter of Linda Kitaen (née Taylor), who participated in a one-time beauty pageant, and Terry Kitaen, an employee of a neon sign company. She was Jewish. At the age of 12, Kitaen started using the pseudonym “Tawny” on her own initiative. She went to her first rock concert at the age of 14 when she saw Peter Frampton at Balboa Stadium. There she and her girlfriends were allowed backstage, and when she saw Frampton’s Girlfriend, Penny, the Full Access VIP treatment, she aspired for it.

Kitaen died at the age of 59 at his Newport Beach home in California. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Kitaen dated Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby during and after high school. She followed the band to pursue her career in Los Angeles in the late 1970s. Kitaen married Whitesnake singer David Coverdale in 1989. Coverdale and Kitaen divorced in 1991. Kitaen, O.J. When Simpson was married to Nicole Brown Simpson.

Kitaen was married to baseball player Chuck Finley from 1997 to 2002. In 2002, She was accused of domestic violence for an incident involving Finley, in which he repeatedly kicked him in high heels in the face. Three days later, Finley filed for divorce. After a plea bargain, Kitaen agreed to “enter into a peer battery counseling program and avoid contact with Finley”. The couple has been married for five years and had two daughters together.

In November 2006, prosecutors charged Kitaen with having 15 grams of cocaine in his San Juan Capistrano home in Orange County. Authorities said that her two children were at home at the time and Kitaen gave lawmakers permission to search. In December 2006, she enrolled in a six-month rehabilitation program in exchange for a reduction in the crime of heavy drug possession.

On September 26, 2009, Kitaen was arrested for driving under the influence in Newport Beach, California. The following July, DUI filed no appeal against the crime and was sentenced to two days in prison, the first offenders were ordered to participate in an alcohol program, and were required to do 64 hours of community service.


Kitaen started his acting career with a small role in the television movie Malibu in 1983. In 1984, she starred as the lead character in the erotic adventure film The Perils of Gwendoline in Yik-Yak Country, also called Gwendoline. Other movie screenings include Tom Hanks’ character as the bride-to-be Bachelor Party (1984),  the petty blockbuster Witchboard (1986),  White Hot  and Dead Tides.

Kitaen appeared in several videos for the Whitesnake band in the 1980s, including “Here I Go Again”, “Still of the Night”, “Is This Love” and “The Deeper the Love”. She was briefly married to David Coverdale, the lead singer of She Whitesnake. She also appeared in Ratt’s video for “Back for More” she.

Kitaen appeared in Seinfeld as Jerry’s girlfriend in the 1991 episode of “The Nose Job”.
