13-Year-Old Girl Charged with Murder During the Murder of a Man in Jersey City A 13-year-old girl was charged with the murder of a 35-year-old man in Jersey City earlier this month. The teenager was arrested and detained just before 7pm by Jersey City police. Hudson County Attorney Esther Suarez, near Union Street and MLK Drive on Christmas Eve, said. It was not clear how Jersey City’s Holmes and the teenager knew each other. The girl also faces gun and assault charges in connection with the death of Niles Holmes, who was shot repeatedly around 4:15 pm on MLK Drive near Wilkinson Avenue. Suarez said on December 10th. Responding, officers said they found Holmes from Jersey City with multiple bullet wounds on the upper part of his body. “Suarez was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was announced dead just after 6:10 PM,” she said.

A second victim from Jersey City, 24, had two abrasions in his arm, Suarez said earlier, and was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center.

The young youth, whose name was not disclosed and was accused of being of age, was caught at 19:00. Authorities said on Thursday, in his hometown of Jersey City, Martin Luther King Dr. and allegedly shot 35-year-old Niles Holmes on Wilkinson Ave.

Authorities said he had allegedly fired on the girl’s torso several times and grazed another 25-year-old man by his arm just after 16:10. Holmes rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center, where he died two hours later. Authorities said the second victim, who also lived in Jersey City, is expected to survive.

Authorities said the girl was charged with murder, serious assault and armed crimes. The relationship between the teenager and Holmes was not immediately clear.

Police followed a group of young people after the incident, NJ.com reported.
