According to prison records, the former NFL player who was on the team that won the Super Bowl for the Chicago Bears in 1985 has yet to appear before a judge for his first appearance.

This year, Richardson was arrested twice by Phoenix police on drug possession charges, according to Maricopa County court records. According to other online records, he was charged in 2018 with theft and possession of drugs, crack cocaine and heroin.
According to ESPN and The Chicago Tribune, Richardson had been convicted of more than 20 crimes by 2008 – while living largely in Southern California before returning to Chicago in 2010.
“As recently as 2008, Richardson was sentenced to 13 years in prison for possession of methamphetamine and crack cocaine,” the Chicago Tribune said in 2011. “He had been convicted of drug charges for the 21st time since the end of his football career.
