Marshon Lattimore Arrested, Investigation & More Facts

Cleveland police say the Saints of New Orleans corner tie Marshon Lattimore was arrested on suspicion of carrying weapons.

A Cleveland police spokesman said Lattimore was arrested in Cleveland on Thursday night after authorities stopped a car he was getting on for traffic violations. New Orleans Saints’ corner vine and Cleveland native Marshon Lattimore were arrested in Cleveland late Thursday on suspicion of carrying a stolen gun, according to police.

The 24-year-old was taken to Cuyahoga County Prison on charges of taking over stolen goods. Lattimore was not officially charged.

Prison records say that the Cleveland police gang investigators arrested Lattimore around 10:30 pm. Thursday. Records show that at the same time as Lattimore, three other people were arrested by the gang unit. One was arrested on suspicion of wrongly carrying a gun in a car, and both were arrested on suspicion of possessing a disabled weapon, which means they illegally owned a weapon with a criminal record.

Lattimore’s lawyer, Marcus Sidoti, said the arrest was a “misunderstanding”.

Cleveland police spokesperson Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia confirmed the arrest hours after cleveland.com/The Plain Dealer reported Lattimore’s arrest.

Ciaccia said in an email that police stopped the Lattimore vehicle and the other three were found on East 97th Street and Carr Avenue for “multiple traffic violations”. Ciaccia said the officers saw a loaded gun inside the car. Police searched the car and found Lattimore with a different loaded gun reportedly stolen from Euclid. Officers arrested three other people in the car on gun charges and showed the driver for driving the headlights without working.

Ciaccia said there was no further information available about the arrest.

Lattimore is a three-time Pro Bowl pick and 2017 Defensive Rookie of the Year. The Saints starred at Glenville High School and Ohio State University before drafting him in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft.
