A seven-year-old girl died after being shot while getting into a McDonald’s car in her father’s car.

Little Jaslyn Adams was shot several times after a gunman opened fire at the restaurant branch in Chicago on Sunday afternoon.

Her father, Jontae Adams, 28, was seriously injured after his body was hit in a gunfight, which police believed to be ‘gang linked’.

The two were waiting in line in the family car for food when the tragedy struck.

Police officers take Jaslyn out of the car and rush to the back of their vehicles to desperately take him to the hospital. A shocked audience can be heard saying in the clip: “Oh sh ** t, they killed a baby.”

Jaslyn and Jontae were taken to the John Stroger Hospital, where it was announced dead.

Chicago Police said that Jaslyn and his father were in the family car “when they heard gunshots and felt pain”.

There are at least 15 bullet holes in the car. After shooting, Jontae frantically called his mother, Lawanda McMullen, and told him the news.

Ms. McMullen told the Chicago Sun Times: “Mom, come get me. They shot my baby.”

Tawny McMullen, Jaslyn’s aunt, paid tribute to her niece by telling her that she was ‘beautiful’ and ‘a really sweet kid’.

Grieving relatives said that Jaslyn was Pinky “because it was bright” and his favorite color was pink. There have been no arrests, and the police are trying to put together the exact circumstances that led to the shooting.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot tweeted: “The murder of a 7-year-old boy on the West End of Chicago this afternoon made me sad and angry.

“This unimaginable act of violence has no place here. The armed violence epidemic that shortened the lives of our children cannot continue.”

Marvin Edwards, president of 100 Men Standing, an advocacy group that advocates gun violence, urges anyone with knowledge of the shooting to stand out. He said: ‘We are tired of this and we are tired. It doesn’t make any sense. Whoever pulled the trigger and gave this young lady her life, hand over these people, whoever is trying to get something to eat from McDonald’s, who is hosting these people …

“We beg you, don’t let this come back. Turn them in immediately. This family is living hell right now because of the actions of some fools.”
