Marquis Beckford, 22, was arrested by patrol officers who answered a call around 6 pm. The police are on Trinity Street after one of them recognizes him as a suspect.

When the cops searched him and found a gun, Beckford admitted that it was the gun he used to shoot Solano in front of a bodega at 1097 Boston Road at noon on December 23. Beckford was charged with murder, manslaughter, and possession of weapons. Following Solano’s murder, community leaders gathered outside the bodega, where he was shot to denounce armed violence in outer districts. Shots in the city have been increasing since the summer months.

Police announced that a 16-year-old boy was killed in the neck in front of a delicatessen in Morrisania on Wednesday.
The police incident took place at Boston Road at noon.
The teenager has been identified as James Solano of the Bronx.
News 12 was said to have been taken to NYC Health + Hospitals / Lincoln, where Solano was announced dead.
The shooting was caught on the security camera.

The grieving brother of a teenager shot dead in front of a Bronx deli said he was motivated to drive for his dreams.
Just 16-year-old James Solano, in Morrisania, E. 166th St. He was shot in the neck by an icy gunman Wednesday afternoon while standing at the door of King Deli on nearby Boston Road.
He was only three blocks from his home when he was shot. He died at Lincoln Hospital.
His brother Andrew was only able to collect a few words on Thursday, only a day since the massacre and hours after a merry Christmas Eve celebration.
It was incredible. He was a sane kid about the future, ”Andrew told the Daily News. “He was always moving forward, always trying to reach his goals. That’s all he did. ”

He said, “We are caring” for his destroyed family. We are just trying to maintain it.
Beginning at the age of 6, James attended the Beacon Program, an after-school program at a local community center.
James was a loving boy, and that’s not exaggerated at all. “He was an energetic boy,” said Angel Pinto, his longtime mentor on the program. It is very sad that he is 16 years old. He had his whole life ahead of him. There were people who cared about him, and it just reminded me that life is short. ”
Pinto said he advised James six days a week until the boy turned 13, watching the teenagers play basketball and flag football, and hang out with his brother and friends.
