Eugene Goodman Wiki ‘USCP Officer – More Facts
“His name is USCP Officer Eugene Goodman,” wrote CNN Reporter Kristin Wilson, who followed Capitol Hill. Do not forget your name. It almost certainly saved lives on Wednesday. Thank you, Officer Goodman. THANK YOU.” Igor Bobic, a political reporter at HuffPost, became the first to share the video during a series of live tweets on January 6, 2021, when pro-Trump supporters violated the Capitol building. Watch the video here or below.

Bobic shared Goodman’s efforts to get protesters out of the Senate floor in a series of live tweets.
“Here’s the terrible moment when protesters walked into the building from the first floor and out of the Senate room,” he wrote on Twitter. @ Igorbobic is this moment in stunning images. In front of the officer there is a mass of rebels climbing the stairs. The USCP officer looks to his left. Between these two seats is the entrance to the senate floor. He pulled them to his right away from their targets, ”he wrote.
Looking again at the video I took of the mob storming the Senate, there’s a moment when the lead rioter looks right for a second, before continuing to follow the officer left, away from the immediate entrance to the Senate. This happened at 2:14. pic.twitter.com/8oetsPvhIb

Susan Simpson, a lawyer in Washington DC, also described what she saw in the video. The officer initially knocks at the door, sees that he is unprotected, and tries to block the way. More rebels flock to them and the officer seems to be implementing a new strategy – pushing the first rebel, angering and then leading the whole crowd to the other side.
