Elijah LaFrance was rushed to hospital and sadly died, and a 21-year-old woman who was also shot outside of a property is stable and is expected to recover.

A toddler was tragically shot to death at his birthday party after a fight outside the property where the celebrations took place.

 

 

The three-year-old boy killed Saturday in northeast Miami-Dade was identified by police as Elijah LaFrance.

He was hospitalized after being found wounded outside the property, but later sadly died.

An unidentified 21-year-old woman was also shot.

She was hospitalized in a stable condition and is expected to recover.

CBS4 understands that the property is an Airbnb rental booked for the party.

Adrian Annestor, Elijah’s distraught uncle, who was at the party, told CBS Miami: “They killed him. God, it’s still in my mind. I was just playing with him. “Mom and dad couldn’t even say.”

A neighbor reported that he heard more than 30 bullets that ‘looked like a series of fire crackers’. The neighbor claimed to have witnessed someone rush to the car before following two more cars and quickly escaped.

Miami-Dade Police Department Manager Alfredo Ramirez wrote on Twitter: “I am in another shoot where a baby is victim of gun violence.

“My heart hurts, parents shouldn’t have to bury their children!” We will not rest and will use all kinds of resources to bring this killer to justice.

“We cannot do this alone, the community must rise!” The Miami-Dade Police Department tweeted: “Our detectives are working around the clock to solve the murder of 3-year-old Elijah LaFrance, using all available resources.

“We distribute flyers in the community, we want possible tips.
