DaBaby was released from police custody after being arrested in Beverly Hills, California, on Thursday afternoon.

The 29-year-old rapper (né Jonathan Lyndale Kirk) was once charged with carrying a concealed weapon and carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle, Beverly Hills Police reported to PEOPLE.

Shortly after 4:30 pm, the officers were summoned to Rodeo Drive after a store’s security reported a man with a gun in his waist while he was at the store.

Police detained a group of men at 4:45 pm and DaBaby was arrested. The police said that his associates were detained at the scene and released.

The “Rockstar” singer was released on a $ 35,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in March.

DaBaby’s manager did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Earlier on Thursday, DaBaby shared videos in his Instagram Story that took place around Los Angeles.

The artist was arrested in Miami last January in connection with a robbery investigation and charged with a batter. An arrest report received by PEOPLE at the time said that DaBaby entered into a “verbal argument” with a music promoter who agreed to give him $ 30,000 for a performance but only gave him $ 20,000, and allegedly punched someone during the argument.

DaBaby refused to interfere, as PEOPLE previously reported.

Complex reports that DaBaby later covered the incident on Instagram.
