Police Criminal Man with Nicki Minaj’s Father’s Fatal Hit and Escape Scene
“Instead of calling 911 and calling an ambulance for the man, it made a conscious decision,” police officials said on Wednesday.
The man who shot and killed Nicki Minaj’s father by running away was arrested.

Nassau County Police announced on Wednesday the arrest of 71-year-old Charles Polevich, who allegedly drove the vehicle that hit Robert Maraj on Friday night. He is accused of leaving the scene of the accident with a death and falsifying the evidence.

Polevich, who later surrendered, fled the scene after initially stopping and realizing that 64-year-old Maraj was seriously injured or killed, according to police. (Maraj was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.)

“He is absolutely aware of what happened,” Nassau County Detective Lieutenant Stephen Fitzpatrick said at a press conference. He got out of the car, looked at the deceased, got into his car, and instead of calling the man an ambulance, he consciously decided to leave. He went home and hid his vehicle. ”

Polevich, who resides in Guam but has a house in Mineola, was driving a 1992 Volvo Station Wagon, a car “different from modern cars” according to Fitzpatrick. Using video footage from neighboring cameras, the police were able to track the vehicle to Polevich’s address.

“He did things to prevent us from exploring the car,” Fitzpatrick said, explaining that the driver was hiding his car under the linoleum.

Maraj was walking north on Roslyn Road street when he was shot by Polevich around 6 pm. On Friday.

“We were able to follow this vehicle before and after the crash, and only followed it home,” said Fitzpatrick.

Fitzpatrick said the police were “in contact with Maraj’s family”.
