It was reported tha walked towards the suspect in the moments before attacking the suspect and told him “Fuck you, you don’t belong here”.

The damn footage also shows that two security guards were watching the attack unfold and were unable to intervene.

Brodsky Organization, the management company of the building, announced on Tuesday that the couple had been suspended from work.

NYPD officers covered Manhattan with wanted posters and offered a $ 2,500 reward for any information about the suspect.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and mayor candidate Andrew Yang expressed outrage Tuesday that no one tried to stop the attack.

“Like many other people, I woke up with a horrible video of an Asian woman being terribly beaten for no reason other than her race,” Yang, now considered a favorite to replace Blasio, told reporters in Brooklyn on Tuesday.

An old Asian woman walking the streets of Hell’s Kitchen could easily become my mother because that’s where we live.

“And when I saw this video, that’s what I thought.”

Yang’s comments were reported by the New York Post. The former candidate of the Democratic Party for president is vying to become the first mayor of Asian descent to take over the City Hall.

The mayor de Blasio described the video as ‘absolutely disgusting and ugly’ and said it was ‘absolutely unacceptable’ for witnesses to not interfere.

“I don’t care who you are, I don’t care what you do, you have to help your New York friend,” De Blasio said at the daily news briefing Tuesday.

If you see someone being attacked, do your best. Make a sound. Tell me what happened. Go try and help. Call for help immediately. Call 911.

This is something we should all be part of the solution. We cannot stand behind and watch a terrible action. ‘

Brodsky Organization, the building’s management company, said on Tuesday: ‘Personnel who witnessed the attack were suspended during the investigation in connection with their unions.

“The Brodsky Organization is also trying to identify a third-party delivery supplier present at the time of the incident so that appropriate action can be taken.”

They added that they ‘condemn all forms of discrimination, racism, xenophobia and violence against Asian-American society’.

The attack came amid a national upsurge in anti-Asian hate crimes. The NYPD says 33 hate crimes have been committed with an Asian victim so far this year.

In the original footage, it was seen that one of the men working in the building was busy opening packages while the attack was in progress.

At one point, a second security guard was seen closing the front door of the building where the couple was working, completely ignoring the woman who was the victim of a brutal attack.

Both did not decide to go after the suspect being hunted by the police with a bounty offered for information.

According to the NYPD, the suspect allegedly made anti-Asian statements when he punched and kicked a 65-year-old woman on West 43rd Street near Ninth Avenue just before noon.

The woman was admitted to NYU Langone Hospital after suffering a hip bone fracture.

Police Commissioner Dermot Shea described Monday’s attack as ‘disgusting’.

‘I don’t know who attacked a 65-year-old woman and left her on the street,’ Shea said on NY1 TV channel on Tuesday.

Shea recently said the agency will increase its reach and patrols in predominantly Asian communities.

According to the AAPI Stop Hate report, over 3,795 incidents were reported to the organization from 19 March 2020 to 28 February 2021. The organization said this number was ‘only a fraction of the number of hate incidents that actually occur’.
