Anastasia Skorychenko Wiki – Charged

The mother, who stabbed her newborn son with a pair of nail scissors and threw the body into the trash, was sentenced to two years in prison.

Anastasia Skorychenko, mother of three, stabbed the boy with scissors at a court in Mykolaiv, southern Ukraine, just 22 minutes after delivering him on his balcony, last week.

The 30-year-old suspect confessed at the criminal hearing, saying “the baby is unwanted” and “could not meet”.

Keeping her third pregnancy a secret, Skorychenko began a home birth.

At night, her two daughters, 7 and 4 years old, and their grandmother began to have contractions while sleeping.

Not wanting to wake them up, Skorychenko reportedly went to the balcony and crouched on a plastic basin and gave birth to a healthy child.

The court was told that the woman used nail scissors to cut her umbilical cord.

After that, according to court records, he pressed his left hand to the newborn’s face to prevent him from crying and started stabbing him with scissors in his right hand.

While serving the sentence, a prosecutor said: ‘The mother cut 22 knives and wounds to the baby’s neck, chest, abdomen and legs.

Various degrees of injuries occurred shortly before the child’s death. ‘

When the boy’s body relaxed, Skorychenko put it in a plastic bag, carried it outside, and threw it in a garbage container near the apartment block, the researchers said.

The next morning, the newborn’s mutilated body was seen by a local resident who called an ambulance and police.

Skorychenko confessed to the murder during a police check and was arrested a few hours after the body was found.

Forensic medicine said she gave birth to a healthy full-time child who died from terrible injuries following the attack.

The Zavodskoy District Court did not want the woman to believe that the third child would worsen the family’s financial situation.

Investigations showed that the mother did not experience any mental disorder or postpartum depression and that she had planned the crime in advance.

On January 5th, Anastasia Skorychenko was charged with the intentional murder of her child and sentenced to two years in prison.

According to local media, judges took into account that the mother admitted her guilt and softened her decisions.
