Aminadab Gaxiola Gonzalez was selected as the man accused of murdering four people, including a 9-year-old boy, in an office building in Orange City, California.

This was the last mass assault in the country, right after the tragedies in Georgia and Colorado.

Police initially said there were “multiple victims” at the Orange City business complex, but later revealed that a man, two women and children had been fatally shot. NBC Los Angeles reports that the two people were taken to a district hospital. The conflict occurred on March 31, 2021, at a business complex in 202 W. Lincoln in Orange City. Journalist Michele Gile wrote on Twitter that Gonzalez was accused of shooting five people in total. He named him Gonzalez and said he was 44 years old and from Fullerton, California.

Police could not identify the victims.


Police Say Gonzalez Knows Victims and Can Wait

Police named the suspect as Aminadab Gaxiola Gonzalez, and Orange police Lieutenant Jennifer Amat said at a press conference that Gonzalez knew the victims, but it was not clear how this happened.

“The preliminary reason is believed to be related to a business and personal relationship that exists between the suspect and all the victims,” Amat said. “This was not a random act of violence.”

She also confirmed that four people had died.

Authorities said the gunman’s situation was fixed.

At a press conference, officials said they were investigating whether Gonzalez was waiting for the victims by chaining a door. Orange County District Attorney Public Administrator Todd Spitzer described the attack as “targeted”. He also said that Gonzalez could face the death penalty.

He said no officer was injured. “I understand there was a hot cop that occurred,” he repeated. He wasn’t sure how many shots had been fired. He did not have the conditions of the suspect or the victims.

“It was an actively developing situation … It was a dynamic situation, so there were several areas of interest,” Amat told the scene.

Authorities said they found two victims in the courtyard, one on the upper landing and two inside the office.

Amat also said authorities believe that the suspect brought a semi-automatic pistol, tear gas, ammunition and handcuffs with him.

California Governor Gavin Newsom expressed his condolences on Twitter.

Terrible and heartbreaking. Our hearts are with the families affected by this terrible tragedy tonight, ”he wrote.
