Mark and Donnie’s brother Paul Wahlberg named his beach restaurant Alma Nova after his mother in 2010. She was 78 years old.

On Sunday, Mark Wahlberg shared a photo of his mother, Alma Wahlberg, who died. The 49-year-old actor wrote, “My angel. May She rest in peace.”

Her brother, New Kids on the Block’s Donnie Wahlberg, previously shared that their mother, the beloved star of the family’s A&E drama Wahlburgers, suffers from dementia.

“For Alma 🏼🕊❤️ I am delighted to be brought up to this world by such a wonderful woman, raised by, taught and put on the path of my life. Alma Mum Alma’s joy to life, love and people – when combined with a pride in her humble beginnings and refusal to forget where she came from – undoubtedly made me the man I was, “Donnie wrote on Instagram with an almost two-minute video to pay homage to his mother”, if you like anything about me, I got it from Alma. I say that because it’s true. She was undoubtedly the most loving person I have ever met. Something disrespectful to anyone. As everyone who came across it knew, the truth was blue. Like many mothers struggling, overcoming difficulties, doing something from scratch and eliminating the impossible for their children, She never complained. “Most of the time it will be done with a smile. She had the best times during the worst times.”

“It was Alma – mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, friend, ally, warrior, angel. She never apologized for who she was, but never put herself on anyone else. If we screwed it she kicked our ass, she kicked someone else. They taught us right, when we were wrong. They made us pay for it, ”Donnie wrote. “She was the epitome of the word grace. As a little boy, She would invite me to sing his favorite song (Odyssey’s Native New Yorker) while cleaning our house. There’s no doubt that we both sang a mop stick, while disco dancing on the ‘sparkly’ linoleum floor, just like She helped inspire the dreamers inside me like the dreamer in her. Another favorite song, Regina Belle’s If I Could, is the song she dances with each of them. I surprised mine by having Miss Belle sing her song. I did this because my mother was able to do many of the things mentioned in that beautiful song ( and she actually did), still wondering if she was doing her job of being the best mother she could be. Today, I say with great certainty and gratitude, she definitely did. ”

Donnie said, “It’s time to rest in peace, mom. I love you, miss you, thank you and I’ll congratulate you today and always. Forever – your baby Donnie.” Donnie’s wife, Jenny McCarthy, also published a tribute. “To my Sweet Alma. I couldn’t ask for a better mother-in-law. She’s always kind, always made me feel loved, and she’ll always inspire many people. I love you so much Alma,” The Masked Singer Judge wrote on Instagram.

In July 2020, the 51-year-old singer shared a message to her followers about her mother’s deteriorating health.

“I know many of you are asking how my mother was like Alma. She didn’t remember much during my visit and was often confused, but somehow she was still Alma. She still lights up a room. Smile to me,” he wrote. “She’s still stubborn. And she still loves her baby Donnie. Thank you all for your well-wishes.” Later she added, “I convey my sincere love and sincere wishes to all those who are far from their loved ones.” “You’ll be together again. I love you all. See you. 🏼❤️”

Alma was the mother of nine children Arthur, Paul, Jim, Robert, Donnie, Mark, Michelle, Debbie, and Tracey Wahlberg, along with Donald Wahlberg, whom she had been married to for 17 years. (She died in 2008. Their daughter Debbie died in 2003.)

Paul, the famous chef behind the Wahlburgers, opened a restaurant called Alma Nova in Hingham, Massachusetts in 2010 in honor of his mother.
