Allan Edwards Shot Killed

A US Army soldier in Fort Bliss, Texas, was allegedly shot dead by his 13-year-old stepson with his own pistol after police saw the boy attacked his mother.

Sergeant Class 1 Allan Edwards, 31, suffered from multiple gunshot wounds Sunday night at La Mirada Apartment, 10500 block of McCombs Street in El Paso. He was reported dead at the scene.

Edwards’ 13-year-old stepson was detained and handed over to the Juvenile Probation Office, but is yet to be charged in connection with his stepfather’s death. He was not named because he was a child.

Police Investigation

Investigators at the El Paso Police Department said Edwards attacked the boy’s mother hours before home and the teenager witnessed violence, KFOX14.

According to the police, when the family returned home that evening and Edwards began an argument with his wife, his son grabbed the soldier’s gun and shot him.

A native of Tennessee, Edwards joined the US Army in 2008 and made a war deployment to Afghanistan. He has been in Fort Bliss since March 2014, according to El Paso Times.

According to his Facebook profile, Edwards was Master Marksman from the 1st Armored Division and the Division. “Sergeant.
