The group of Catherine Serou was found in woods close to the focal Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod on Saturday.

The 34-year-old had been living in Russia and considering law at Lobachevsky University since 2019, and disappeared on Tuesday.

Her mom, Beccy Serou, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, had revealed to US National Public Radio that her little girl’s last message to her read: “In a vehicle with an outsider. I trust I’m not being snatched.”

She disclosed to NPR that her little girl was attempting to get to a facility on Tuesday and may have gotten into the passing vehicle.

“I believe that when she saw that the individual wasn’t heading to the center, yet rather was crashing into a timberland, she froze,” she added.

Alexander Popov, 43, was captured on doubt of homicide and showed up in court to be charged on Sunday.

Mr Popov apparently has a record of vicious violations and faces life detainment whenever indicted.

The Russian state news office RIA-Novosti announced that he gave Ms Serou a ride in his vehicle, took her to the lush region and purportedly cut her to death “throughout a question”.

The court requested that he was held until 15 August.

“We give our sincerest sympathies to the family on their misfortune. We are intently checking nearby specialists’ examination concerning the reason for death. We are giving all fitting help to the family,” the United States Embassy in Moscow said in a proclamation.

“Much thanks to you just for your assistance attempting to get Catherine home safe,” Beccy Serou composed on Facebook.

“Shockingly, we got a call from the police earlier today disclosing to us they discovered her body. As our family measures this news we’ll have more to say.”
